Eighth edition of ‘Blaugranes’ magazine shows support for ‘Penyes’ movement

NEWS 10 Feb 2019 - CMP

The new edition of the publication covers the latest news from supporters’ clubs and meets Barça stars as Barça Legends coach Albert Ferrer and the oldest former player Batiste Llopis

The eighth edition of Blaugranes magazine focuses its contents on two of the most representative values of FC Barcelona supporters club members: Solidarity and sport. It does so through a series of reports and interviews covering initiatives such as Members Solidarity Day, the new FC Barcelona Museum supporters’ clubs Area, the Barça Legends project and the social and cultural actions promoted by ‘penyes’ around the world.

Solidarity, the driving force for Barça

Solidarity has characterized the penyes movement since its inception and is a cornerstone in the daily activities of groups around the world. Proof of this commitment is Members Solidarity Day, a day that features collaboration with the Confederation and the local Food Bank and that last December broke records with a contribution of 6,850 kg of non-perishable food. This is reported on in the main feature of the magazine.

The magazine also reviews the activities carried out by three penyes that have shown exceptional social support on a national and international level. PB Almogàvers Garrotxins, which carries out important cultural and social initiatives; PB Pedrito, especially focused on helping the most vulnerable; and PB Beirut, devoted to the promotion of Barça values in the Middle East.

FC Barcelona’s living legends

The latest edition of the publication also pays homage to FC Barcelona stars of the past. Blaugranes interviews Albert 'Chapi' Ferrer, current coach of the Barça Legends team, to reflect on his career and the relevance of the Barça veterans’ side, as well as talking with Batiste Llopis, the oldest living former FC Barcelona player.

The magazine reveals all the details of the new Espacio Peñas, a section within the FC Barcelona Museum that highlights the strength and magnitude of the supporters’ clubs movement and recognises the commitment of all the supporters in the growth and consolidation of a globalised group.

Blaugranes is a tool for the fans

Finally, the magazine has also been created as a tool for the club, providing useful and practical information on the new official website of the Supporters Group Confederation and the anti-fraud initiative headed by the Club and backed by the Confederation, through a report on the latest developments in the field of transparency and good praxis in sport.
